Nil Book Review

Nil by Lynne Mastson
My Ratings - 5/5 Stars

I guess this is the type of the book that you'll either hate or love it sooo much. For me its clear which path picked.

THIS! Now this is what I call a brilliant book! AMAZING!!! I'm so in love with this one!

SYMPTOMS OF READING NIL
1) You're nails will get short for sure, guaranteed - why? cause you'll bite them all the way...
2) You might end up crying at some moment...
3) STRESS - A lot of it
4) ADDICTION (towards this book even if its a stand alone)
5) You'll get hysterical at some point.
6) You will freak out your friends because of all the points above

I don't know what the others say but THIS book is THE best one I've read this year. AWESOME. I loved Charley and Thad sooo much all throughout the book. Lynne Matson, you've done a very good job on the plot, I salute you. Seriously people, its not easy to write a book about something like that. There would be a lot, a lot of loop holes if its not written properly and would just bring the whole book down. If you have read most of my reviews, you would know how annoyed I get with too much suspense or too little suspense. But this book, despite revolving around a mystery, did it pretty well.

The book starts with Charley in her usual life, entering the inbound gate for NIL and I got hooked at that point itself. Next chapter is Thad's and I was sooo happy to see this as a dual point of view! I found it creepy, the way he thought of Nil as this girl who is bored and just decides to play with humans as toys... Charley survives that long without any human contact, now thats something I really admire about her. She has got guts. Even though the attraction between Thad and Charley was like insta-love, they kind of delayed their feelings a lot and it was fun seeing this aspect in the most bind-blowingly creepy island.

I have sooo much to tell you about this book! But I'll keep it short for your sake. This book gives you sooo many intense feelings. Maybe it's because of the time thats running out for Thad, I mean they all have 365 days to get out. Or the creepy incidents that happen to these kids or maybe the fact that they are just as old as me and get thrown into this situation. Charley and Thad look at Nil from very different point of views. They have very different thoughts of this island and that's one aspect that I like very much. Now, just because I say that this book is awesome doesn't mean that there are no deaths.

It keeps you at your edge until the end. Until the last chapter, really. OMG, the last few pages, I ran out of nails to bite and started going crazy. It was sooo good to see that what happened in Nil wasn't like a dream or something. I just wish there was a way this book would continue cause there is just so much more to this book and it really doesn't end there since the Nil is still there. PEOPLE JUST GO READ THIS BOOK! OKAY? GO READ IT NOW. NO TIME TO DELAY. I GIVE YOU 10 DAYS AT MOST IF NOT YOU'LL END UP ON NIL!

Landry Park Book Review

A good book. Not that awesome but good enough. And I've a feeling its because this book might just be acting as a set up for the next book :) So I have a lot of expectations from the next one. I was a bit irritated by David and Madeline's relationship throughout the book and it reminded me of Maxon and America's in the first book of The Selection. It was just annoying how he debuted with Cara even though he had eyes for Madeline and that kiss made me hate him more. I was glad that Jude was around there though. There were a few twists but most of them were predictable throughout the book except for the last one. I swear I did not see it coming. Throughout the book, I was always on the edge waiting for something, but it did not happen. Like I said before, I suspect that this is a set up for its sequel.

Madeline was a really string character in this book, even though she is not the one whom I would admire in an instant. Somewhere deep inside me, I kept wishing that she should be stronger, more brave. Hopefully her time will come. I don't know why but I want to see something stirring up between Jude and her... I really don't know why since I'm not a fan of love triangles. David's great, no doubt, but I liked how Jude suddenly decided to help them at the end.

I still have sooo many questions from this book. Her father has a fast regenerating DNA, Oh no, Somewhere in the future I see Madeline getting seriously seriously injured... How are they going to help the rootless now? What about her father and mother? I guess she's free to go to that university now. I couldn't imagine that they were her cousins!! Overall, give this book a try if you have free time :) I swear this is just the beginning and most likely, if my predictions are correct, its sequel might be worth it ;)

Of Neptune Book Review

Of Neptune by Anna Banks
My Ratings - 4/5 Stars
I AM BEING REALLY BIASED NOW... (not completely though) I have waited so much for this book that any type of ending seems perfect for this book.

I will just rant out my complaints first. I was really hoping to see a lot of action which included powers being used but unfortunately that did not happen much. I was also hoping for more Reyna appearances but... And the plot was a bit dull compared to previous books. I just wish it could have been more developed cause this book could have had a lot going for it but... *sigh* And I really wish this book had a lot of Galen and Emma scenes but sinces they were apart for more than half of the book. Anna had a lot of strong and well characters to use but she didn't...

Now on to the squeal-worthy swoon-like parts of the book. Okayyyyy. This was one of the majorly best aspect of the book. OMG, even though Emma and Galen went through all that, their scenes were sooooooo CUTE!!!! ADORABLE! It was just sooo entertaining to see Galen getting jealous of Reed. Haha all those thoughts and plans he had made up in his mind for Reed. Hilarious, really. I never knew Galen could get that possessive. I didn't see the aspect of Reed's gifts at all. That was really a surprise! Looks like Emma's not the only one now... And that conflict between Galen and Emma! I don't know about you guys but I thought it was a really really good idea. It made their relationship seem even more real. But that didn't stop them, did it? *smirks*

And finally, the ending... EEK! THE ENDING!!! Did anyone else thought that that ending was awesomely, amazingly, beautifully perfect?! AWWWWW THAT WAS SO SWEET GALEN!!! I had been deprived of that scene sooo much that I was giggling, smiling and smirking to myself in the middle of a huge crowd on the train... You can imagine what the people around me were thinking. But who cares! That was the last book and all I could think was - leave me alone and let me devour this piece of swoon-worthy ending!

Overall, people please go read this trilogy if you haven't. Its worth it, trust me. If not just give it a try cause its all about mermaids, a topic that's not very popular. You know, something new... Hehehehehe, the ending....

SPOILER ALERT

"I'm not done," Galen says.

Ohh that's when I knew it! That's when I knew this ending could not get anymore perfect *giggles*

Then that Syrena prince gets on his knees in the wet sand. His eyes are wells leading to his soul, his very being.

Ahhhhh!!! Oh no, oh no, is he really gonna say those cheesy words in front of the whole crowd and adding onto the vows!!! OMG. Breathe girl, breath!

"Emma, I will love you with every breath in my body and beyond my own death. I swear to be your shield, your protector, your worshipper. There is nothing I will deny you. I am yours"

OMG OMG OMG *squeals* I surrender! I surrender! *faints*

Now that was the most swoon-worthy epilogue I have ever read! This just adds to my list of fantasies. Good job Anna! Now you've just made the lives of boys who are trying to confess even more difficult... It was an awesome ending...
